APPOINTMENTS: Appointments are not necessary, but highly recommended. No matter where you are driving or flying from, someone must be scheduled to be at the barn to show you the horses. And that someone is ME. There is only one of me, and no one would like to wait hours while I am showing horses to customers with scheduled appointments. Or even worse show up to no one here and a locked gate at the mail box with me out of town for the day or the week.
LOCATION: Barn is located about 7 miles from the city limits of Westminster, SC 29693. Directions to the barn are available for a scheduled appointment. REFERENCES: Upon request, we can provide contact information for many satisfied customers as well as Vet and Farrier references. Also a happy homes page on here and a references link at the top of this page. Dr. Kate came to SC from Pioneer in California, one of the 2 most well known lameness equine clinics in all of America. She vets all of our horses and these records are public on the horses' page. She is the primary vet for the majority of the large horse barns in our area, including the Friesian Marketplace, Stoneridge Equestrian, Riverbend, etc. In my opinion, she is the most knowledgeable and most thorough lameness vet in the upstate. www.drkatevet.com www.facebook.com/drkatevet
PRE-PURCHASE EXAMINATIONS: We welcome additional veterinary examinations on any of our horses prior to purchase. This may be performed by a veterinarian of the buyer’s choice and may be as thorough as desired, including radiographs, drug screens, blood work, etc. All costs associated with the pre-purchase exam are the buyer’s responsibility. We do recommend going with a performance vet, because your average farm call or small animal clinic vet just doesn't see the numbers of performance horses or usually have that type experience. Dr. Kate, previously with the famous Pioneer Equine Hospital in California, is currently located in Belton SC. She blocks off an appoinment time each week with availability to come out for a farm call here. You are absolutely welcome to come watch any additional exams and video it to show your vet at home, in addition you are welcome have radiographs etc and send to your vet at home also.

I like to discuss what you are looking for. I usually ask if you have a height range, age range and budget. If you have a trainer or someone helping you, I would like to talk with them prior. All of these steps are in place to save all of us time and keep everyone safe in the process. Please have all parties valued in the decision making process attend the appointment or reschedule when all parties are available. :)
DEPOSITS: Deposits are absolutely NOT required. However, if you are seriously interested in one of our horses, you may want to be prepared to make a deposit upon your visit to ensure the horse is not sold prior to arrangements for purchase being made. It is also normal procedure for buyers to send a deposit prior to their long distance visit to ensure the horse will not be sold before they can come. We do not know how long a horse will be available and for this reason we regret that we cannot hold any of our horses or give preference to any buyer without a deposit. Deposits are $500 for a horse priced upto $5000, and 10% of advertised price for any horse priced over $5000. A deposit will entitle the buyer to right of first refusal of the horse for a period of time not to exceed 24 hours. A larger deposit can hold a horse for a longer peroid, and these are discussed case by case. Once the deposit is made, the horse will not be sold to another buyer for the agreed time period, allowing enough time for arrangements for a visit, additional vetting and/or purchase to be made. Deposits can be made by check, cashier’s check, wire transfer, or cash. All deposits are non-refundable; however if you determine for any reason the horse is not for you, you may use the deposit towards the purchase of any of our other horses for sale within 15 days from the date of the deposit.
TRIAL PERIODS: For our horses' safety, none of our horses are available for trial. However prospective approved buyers are welcome to make as more than one visit to take lessons or trail rides on the horse(s). Contact me for the cost. Also, it may be possible to make arrangments for a serious buyer to try the horse at different facilities to further ascertain its suitability. Contact me with the location and how many days for a quote.
PAYMENT: Payment is accepted via cash (our favorite) and bank/wire transfer. Personal checks and cashiers checks are accepted and will result in up to a 15 day hold on taking delivery of the horse/trailer, just until the check clears. No horse will be allowed to leave the farm until paid for in full, with no exception.
TRANSPORTATION: We can provide or assist arrangement of horse transportation of horses we sell. Contact us for a hauling quote. We can also recommend nationwide transporters, literally across the entire US. We have even exported to Canada and Bermuda.
GUARANTEES: Our horses, saddles, and trailers are sold as-is with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. All sales are final. All horses we represent for sale are self-owned. We regret that in fairness we cannot be responsible for a horse’s condition once it has left our premises. An additional veterinary exam is welcomed to determine the horse’s present condition and its current fitness for a particular purpose. Due to our concern for everyone’s best interest, please note that we reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone if we feel it is not the right home or match.
We also recommend new owners insure their new horses.
Thanks for looking and giving us the opportunity to help you find the horse of your dreams.

We do offer consignment and it will be listed in the description of the horse on its page if a horse is on consignment. Otherwise, we own all horses. Out of about 4500 horses we have only had 1 consignment horse, but it is offered.
